Re: Obama administration and fishing

Oh I know bluegills. I grew up on them and still consider them my favorite fish to eat. I've just never heard them called sweat bream before.

Re: Obama administration and fishing

Thanks for the info. It seems right in line with a lot of Obama's anti-sportsmen policy and political appointments. F'in Democrats. I hope every one of them learn what it's like to be unemployed come next election. On a MUCH lighter note, I just read your signature and laughed my ass o...

'09 - '10 recap (w/pix)

My goal is to give a brief recap of the year each season and hit on a few of the more memorable moments throughout the season and hope that a few other club members will do the same. Unfortunately, I've waited so long this year, that I've already forgot more than I remember about the season. Maybe...

Re: Goose massacre this weekend? (2/27 - 28)

It was a good trip. After a pit stop to have a front hub replaced on the way over, I rolled into the area just before dark in time to hit a couple of fields at sunset. I stopped by and got Derrick and tried one field that didn't work so well (4 birds) as he discovered his gun was a single shot and...

Re: Snow Goose Hunt

I've had worst. The funny thing is that I almost missed out on the whole she-bang. I rolled into NEA Thursday afternoon, as did Stu. He drove in from the north of our "territory" and I came in from the south. Neither of us saw anything to get excited about. It just so happened that JD...

wader pants

A couple of guys had asked me where I got those tan wader pants that I often wear. (I'm still not sure if they were genuinely interested in the pants, or just checking out my ass, but I digress. ) I saw in the Cabela's Clearance Catalog that I received today (p.62) that they are on sale $2...

Re: W.M.A. closures!!!!!!

Are you trying to incite total pandalirium? I'm thinking this is how rumors get started and spread, but who knows. What I understand based on a short little article from the Commerical Appeal that was posted on the 'fuge is that there are concerns about FEMA getting the clean-up done in...

Re: Club Dove Hunt

We do have a second field now. No word yet on how it looks, yet, but this does mean we will have a field for Saturday and Sunday. Depending on what we find, we may even shoot a cut field like we usually do and save both of these for Sunday and Monday. We'll just see how things look Friday and mak...

Club Dove Hunt

Andy, Richie and I are planting a small wheat field in the middle of a corn field with an irrigation pivot next to it. The field also has a fencerow full of snags. Andy's been seeing good numbers of dove everytime he's driven down to the field (which is well out of the way and hidden) and I saw a ...

Re: LaCrosse 1200 5mm Waders new at Wingsupply - $150

Mine just came in. I was concerned about the Duck Blind being to bright for the woods. I don't think that'll be a concern. It's probably along the same brightness as NatGear, which is just fine. The dang things are 5mm and all, but they sure feel lighter than my old ones. You reckon I've just b...
